My name is Jim Malone and as you may have guessed from my website name I get huge enjoyment working with wood. It's been a hobby of mine for a number of years I have made many bits and pieces around my home and as presents for friends and family.
Having never done woodwork in school everything was a bit trial and error but in recent years I did a few carpentry courses to try to improve my skills.
Just before covid hit I invested in a lathe and this opened up a whole new area for me. I like nothing better than disappearing to my workshop and creating on the lathe.
I like to try to reuse and upcycle and thats where I found an interest in making bottle lamps marrying interesting looking bottles with bases turned on the lathe. I make up turning blanks from offcuts or repurposed wood and the bottles have all obviously been pre loved some even by myself!
